On Influences and Finding Inspiration – Interview

mkanyemba-oct07-005.jpgFiona Mcvie has just interviewed me for her authorinterviews blog. Apart from the subject of writing, we chat about who and what shaped me as a writer and how and where I find inspiration. Also included is the opening scene of a story I’m currently trying to place. I’ll probably upload the interview to this site at some stage, but in the meantime, check it out here

  1. Hi John, I enjoyed the interview very much. I was very interested in some of your reading choices. I’ve recently finished reading ‘Old School’ by Tobias Wolff, which is both insightful and well written, and I’ve just started reading ‘Freedom’, by Jonathan Franzen, which was a present from my daughter Zoe. Good luck getting your book published. it sounds like a great read.
