I’m uber proud to have a short story called ‘Last Love’ featured in Uncertainties Volume I, an anthology of supernatural tales just published by the always excellent Swan River Press. The book was launched last Saturday, August 20th, at the Dublin Ghost Story Festival, the first of a hopefully annual event, in the Grand Lodge of Ireland on Dublin’s Molesworth Street. A better venue could not be imagined, and amid the splendour of a magnificently arcane building, after a series of entertaining and thought-provoking panel discussions and interviews with contributions from David Mitchell, John Connolly, Adam Nevill, Sarah Pinborough, Lynda E. Rucker, Paul Kane, Marie O’Regan, Angela Slatter, Maura McHugh and many others, the anthology was officially launched to a very enthusiastic and supportive audience.
Edited by Brian J. Showers, the collection includes stories by Mark Valentine, Lynda E. Rucker, Maura McHugh, Sarah LeFanu, John Reppion, Robert Neilson and a host of others, including my little offering. Launched alongside Volume I was Uncertainties Volume II, which features a clatter of stories by Steve Rasnic Tem, Gary McMahon, Peter Bell, R.B. Russell, Rosalie Parker, John Howard and other equally salubrious writers. Swan River Press’ catalogue of publications represents a major contribution to quality supernatural fiction, both promoting new talent and shining a light on overlooked or neglected classics of the genre, and as such deserves your support.
